Basic information about Přísnotice
Přísnotice is situated in Southern Moravia, 5 km from Židlochovice. It lies at an altitude of 181 m above sea level. The imaginary forty-ninth parallel passes through the village green.
There are 800 inhabitants living there in 325 houses.
The village was awarded an emblem and a flag.
The cycling trail Brno - Vienna runs through Přísnotice.
Přísnotice was probably founded between 1200 and 1300, it was first mentioned in 1341.
Its dominating feature is the church of St. Wenceslas situated in a park in the centre of the village. The church was built in 1873 on a site of the former chapel from 1861. There used to be a belfry but it was burnt later. A nearby house was adapted to a parsonage and in 1884 the first parson was welcomed there. The church was extended and renovated in 1905.
In the village there is a kindergarten, primary school, library, civic centre, playing field and playground. There are also three shops and two pubs.
Only a few petty entrepreneurs work in Přísnotice. Job openings are scarce there, most people commute to work to surrounding towns and villages.
